STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM, NOW WE’RE HERE!!!!
Lifestyle luxury street-wear clothing brand Milano Di Rouge has finally opened the doors to the first official flagship store; and it is open for business.
The new store-front located on 1509 Spring- Garden St was a sight to see this past Sunday August 28; and you can bet there was nothing but good vibes, and unique style in the air. The Grand Opening kicked off at 2pm, with tons of individuals in attendance waiting for founder/owner Milan Rouge to cut the big red ribbon and allow the public in, for the viewing and shopping experience to begin.
While waiting to get a glimpse of what Milan and the Milano team has been working so hard on, friends, family, and supporters were able to enjoy the outside atmosphere. There you could find soul-food from Tasties, drinks courtesy of Belaire, water-ice from Dre’s Water Ice, and games that kept the crowd engaged . Can’t forget about Cakeadelphia who prepared the cutest, and most delicious treats; with a display cake that resembled the outside of the storefront. You could also hear non-stop music provided by DJ Wayne Stackz on the 1’s and 2’s banging out some of the freshest sounds and a our host Shaun Guess kept the crowd laughing.
There was even a surprise performances by Boone, and the young talented Summer Is Sunny, and the Summer Gang, who had the crowd going wild! Along with the Bike Life Crew, who came to set the opening off right!
Even Brooklyn Nets own Rondae Jefferson came through to show love, and encouraged everyone in attendance to make a purchase. It was clear that individuals listened, because the register line managed to flow all the way outside of the store until 8pm which was way past the time the event even ended, which made it evident that everyone was having a grand time.
I got the chance to chat with owner Milan about what it took, why now, and what’s next for herself and her brand! Check below and see what she had to say.
BP: Talk to me a little about what it took to get here, and why we’re opening up a store now?
MR: It took a lot of hard work and dedication. Even when I felt like giving up, I just continued to defy the odds. I’m a big believer in supply and demand. It was a demand for the store. And I would be stupid not to supply that demand. I have to thank my team; I have an amazing team behind me. Without them I wouldn’t have gotten this far. BP:Why this location, and How long did it take?
MR: I was actually so against the place, but we revamped the store and now I just love it! There are three schools in the area; it’s just an amazing spot to be in. I can sit here and just chill on the steps. All I keep thinking is WOW this is what God has blessed me with! This was a process, I signed my lease in February and I had to get approved for zoning which took three months. Three months after I signed the lease I had to get ready for the fashion show. That’s why I called it the NEXT STOP. Nobody knew, but the store was the Next Stop. Then we had to wait another 3 months for the contractors to do renovations. So it was indeed a process.
BP:What’s next for Milano?
MR: Now that the store is open I want to build people up as a whole; I feel you should be happy with you’re doing, I feel like people are just doing things for a check (money) and you should love what you’re doing. I want to know where I can come in and help, I’m not just going to sell clothes. This Milano store is not just a place to shop, it’s a place where the dreamers can come and be inspired.
BP: Who are you at this point?
“Creator, designer, owner of Milano Di Rouge Apparel, and a Black Girl who Rocks! I’m here to inspire Black Girls to keep going; I’m here to inspire them not to depend on men. I’m just all about empowerment.
If you missed the Grand Opening, be sure to check out the new store TODAY! And remember to never stop Making Your Dreams Reality.
