Hi Dreamer,
Your circle shapes your mindset, energy, and ultimately your success. The people you surround yourself with can either fuel your dreams or drain them. Today, I want to share three types of people you should either stay away from or help reshape their mindset. I was thinking about this while in the shower, and I’ll be creating a video tomorrow to expand on it, but I didn’t want to wait to share this with you. Let’s dive into it. (Insert lifestyle photo here, representing positivity or reflection.)
1. The Flaw-Finder
This person always finds the negative. Instead of celebrating someone’s beauty,
success, or effort, they zoom in on minor flaws. For example:
• They see a stunning photo of a woman and comment on her chipped nail.
• They see a man’s picture and point out a stain on his sneakers or shirt.
Why This Isn’t the Milano Way
• Flaw-finding reflects insecurity, and engaging in it dims your light.
• The Milano mindset is about celebrating others and focusing on
positives—because building others up elevates you too.
What to Do
• Redirect the conversation: “I didn’t even notice that; I think they look amazing!”
• Challenge them: “Why focus on that instead of celebrating their win?”
• Lead by example: Be someone who spreads kindness and positivity—it’s
contagious.
2. The Chronic Complainer
No matter how great an event or experience is, this person always finds the negative. They focus on minor inconveniences instead of celebrating the positive.
Why This Isn’t the Milano Way
• Negativity is an energy thief. The Milano mindset thrives on gratitude and
optimism because positivity is the foundation for building dreams.
What to Do
• Shift the focus: “I hear you, but what’s one thing you enjoyed?”
• Set boundaries: “I’m focusing on the positive—tell me what inspired you most!”
• Protect your space: Surround yourself with uplifting, encouraging energy.
(Insert a photo of a vibrant event or a positive moment.)
3. The Problem-Creator
This person finds a problem for every solution. No matter how many ways you try to
help, they always have a reason why it won’t work.
Why This Isn’t the Milano Way
• The Milano mindset is about execution, resilience, and solutions. Dwelling on
problems instead of progress keeps you stuck, and you can’t afford that energy in
your life.
What to Do
• Call it out: “It seems like every idea has a downside—what’s your ideal
solution?”
• Encourage growth: “If you’re ready to move forward, let’s focus on the next
step.”
• Surround yourself with doers: Be around people who inspire action, not
excuses.
Milano Mindset Takeaway
Dreams are fragile; they need a positive, resilient environment to thrive. The people you allow into your space influence your energy and ability to grow. While it’s important to challenge others to grow, it’s just as important to protect your energy by setting boundaries. What If This Sounds Like You?
If you see yourself in any of these descriptions, here’s the good news: it’s not too late to change.
1. Ask yourself:
• Why do I focus on flaws or negativity?
• Who taught me these habits, and how have they shaped me?
• Who in my life reinforces this behavior, and how can I change that
dynamic?
2. Start with awareness:
• Notice your patterns. When you catch yourself doing these things, pause
and reflect.
• Say to yourself, “I did it again,” and use it as an opportunity to choose differently.
3. Commit to growth:
• Change won’t happen overnight, but it begins with awareness. When you change
how you view the world, you change your life.
